Description

As announced on 4 November 2025, the German company JobRad, which specializes in leasing bicycles to companies, plans to cut 20 percent of its roughly 850 jobs. This would affect around 170 employees, working in the core activities of the company.

According to the company, the reasons for this are the difficult economic situation and declining sales figures in the sector after years of booming growth.

Talks with the works council are already underway to make the job cuts as socially responsible as possible. It is currently still unclear whether direct dismissals will occur.

According to the company, it works with more than 7,200 bicycle shops in Germany in relation to leasing.

Updated, 05/03/2026

Fewer people than initially expected are losing their jobs at the bike leasing company JobRad. Following discussions between management and the works council, 107 employees will have to leave the company by 31 December 2026, combining a socially responsible measure with a measure ensuring the company's future stability.
