Description
As announced on 30 October 2025, semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies plans to cut a mid-three-digit number of jobs at its Belecke site in Warstein (North Rhine-Westphalia).
The reason cited is a decrease in demand. According to Infineon, there will be no compulsory redundancies, with the job cuts expected to happen in a socially responsible manner. Talks with the works council are currently underway. Workers' unions criticised the lack of prior warning and authorities voiced concerns regarding the scale of the reductions.
The Warstein site employs 2,200 people, while Infineon employs around 58,000 people worldwide.
Back in May 2024, Infineon cut around 500 jobs at its Regensburg site, as recorded in the ERM events database Infineon Technologies 2024 - DE.
