Teleperformance, a company operating in the call center industry, has announced the collective dismissal of 200 employees as part of an internal restructuring. The main reason given is related to cost control.
According to the National Union of Telecommunications and Audiovisual Workers (Sindicato Nacional dos Trabalhadores das Telecomunicações e Audiovisual, Sinttav), the affected workers have already begun to be contacted individually. It is Teleperformance’s first collective dismissal in Portugal. The process is wide-ranging, impacting not only agents but also middle management and support staff.
