Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Enertronica Santerno,a company producing energy equipment and solutions, based in Castel Guelfo has initiated judicial liquidation proceedings, threatening approximately 100 employees including technicians, clerks, and workers. The multinational company in via della Concia, with over half a century operating in energy equipment and solutions and stock exchange listing, informed unions Fiom CGIL and Fim CISL of the critical situation.
Fiom CGIL Imola and Fim CISL Amb requested Regional and Metropolitan City crisis tables, expressing strong concern for affected workers' futures. Unions were aware of an initial negotiated composition procedure that concluded, but not of a second failed attempt accompanied by provisional operation requests.
Meetings between unions and workers assessed received information and defined next initiatives. Unions await trustee appointment while activating institutional safeguarding table requests, hoping concrete solutions emerge for the production site's future while seeking clearer understanding of the situation's causes.
