European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Abbanoa will hire 389 employees to directly manage Sardinia's wastewater treatment operations, ending reliance on external contractors. President of Abbanoa announced recruitment for 272 plant operators, 45 maintenance workers, 41 electrical technicians, 24 technical plant assistants, and 7 district coordinators, with approximately 40 administrative positions to follow.
The selection criteria emphasize sector experience to target workers already operating in wastewater treatment.
The strategic shift represents fundamental reorganization bringing the entire water cycle, from collection to environmental discharge, under integrated water service management as legally required.
Sardinia's wastewater infrastructure comprises 354 treatment plants and pretreatment facilities plus 1,011 sewage lifting stations.
