Description

Metsä Board, manufacturer of paperboard, has announced that it will cut 315 jobs worldwide. Under the measure, 155 positions will be affected in Finland.

Statutory negotiations in Finland are scheduled to begin no earlier than 7 October. Additionally, the company plans to discontinue two investment projects in Finland and Sweden as they are currently deemed unprofitable. The measures are part of the company’s €200 million cost savings programme.

Metsä Board is part of the forestry company Metsä Group. The company has its production facilities in Finland and Sweden. It employs approximately 2,000 employees.

At the same time, Metsä Group has announced plans to cut 485 jobs worldwideMetsä Group 2025-WO.
