European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The Swedish video game company Avalanche Studios has initiated cooperation negotiations. In Sweden, between 30-70 persons will likely be laid off as a result of the negotiations.
The company is also planning to shut down its office in Liverpool, United Kingdom, which would result in the redundancy of 50 staff. The cooperation negotiations follow a slow down of the growth in the gaming industry, which experienced a boom during the Covid-19 pandemic. Microsoft owned Xbox recently withdrew their investment in Avalanche studios new game.
Avalanche Studious has approximately 500 employees globally, out of which the majority located in Malmö and Stockholm, Sweden.
