European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Just Eat Takeaway, a global online food delivery company originally founded as Thuisbezorgd, announced the reduction of 175 full-time positions at its Enschede office. The cuts primarily affect customer service and sales administration roles.
The restructuring is attributed to automation and developments in artificial intelligence, which have reduced the need for routine manual tasks. The decision, announced to staff during an internal meeting, is part of a broader effort to improve efficiency and secure long-term growth. Despite the layoffs, the company states that it remains committed to local employment, having recently opened a new office in Enschede.
