Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Wizz Air will create over 400 new jobs at Rome Fiumicino airport following deployment of its fourteenth Airbus A321neo in March 2026. The Hungarian low-cost carrier is capitalizing on Vueling's workforce and route reductions, expanding capacity with nearly half a million additional annual seats in the Italian market.
The new aircraft will strengthen existing routes including London Luton, Málaga, and Tel Aviv while cementing Fiumicino's position as Wizz Air's strategic Italian hub. Employment opportunities span direct hiring (pilots and cabin crew) plus indirect airport-related positions.
Wizz Air has scheduled pilot recruitment events for October, strategically positioned to absorb workforce released by Vueling's downsizing.
