European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Avery Dennison, a global manufacturer of labelling and packaging materials, has announced plans to cut 125 of its 400 jobs at its Turnhout site in Belgium by the end of 2026.
The decision follows a period of operational optimisation that, according to the company, did not yield sufficient results. The restructuring is part of a broader effort to improve efficiency and competitiveness. The company has stated that it will engage in dialogue with employee representatives and aims to implement the changes gradually over the coming years.
The site in Turnhout has long been a significant employer in the region, and the announcement has raised concerns among local stakeholders about the impact on the labour market and community.
