Description
Compania Națională de Administrare a Infrastructurii Rutiere (National Road Infrastructure Administration Company (CNAIR)), which plays an essential role in the development of transport infrastructure projects that ensure connectivity with European transport corridors and contribute to increasing the mobility of people and goods has announced its intention to dismiss 125 persons by the end of August 2025.
The reasons for the planned layoffs are the implementation of the provisions of Law 296/2023 on certain fiscal budgetary measures to ensure Romania's long-term financial sustainability, as well as the reduction in the number of positions within the Control and Collection Agencies as a result of Romania's accession to the Schengen Area, which has led to the elimination of internal land border controls within the Schengen Area.
CNAIR is under the coordination of the Ministry of Transport.
Currently, the company has a workforce of 7,100 persons.
