Description
VAT Romania, part of the Swiss vacuum valve manufacturer and supplier group of the same name, announced the opening of a plant in Arad. The construction of the plant started in September 2024 when the company announced its intention to hire 380 people starting in 2025.
Currently, approximately 50 of VAT Romania's 380 highly skilled employees are already working at the new plant, with the entire team set to be relocated by the end of 2025. As part of this phased growth strategy, VAT intends to double the number of employees directly involved in manufacturing in Romania over the next three years. In addition to its core manufacturing activities, the plant will house and expand engineering, IT and supply chain functions, supporting the VAT Group's extended operational needs.
The investment in the development of VAT Romania will generate numerous jobs in areas requiring advanced technical expertise — such as mechanical engineering, automation, high-precision CNC machining — as well as in support functions. This expansion will contribute to the development of capabilities beyond manufacturing itself, positioning the new plant as a benchmark facility within the Group's global network.
Globally the company has a workforce of 2,700 employees, with offices in 29 countries and production facilities in Switzerland, Malaysia and Romania.
