Description
Stellantis has announced voluntary departure programs affecting 610 employees across Turin-area facilities including Mirafiori. The workforce reductions span multiple sites: 250 positions at bodywork operations, 212 at central departments, 53 at PCMA San Benigno, 31 at tooling construction, 20 at services, 19 at press operations, 16 at Orbassano research center, and 9 at former Tea Grugliasco.
This initiative follows last year's voluntary exits by approximately 1,000 workers from the Turin region Stellantis 2024 - IT, which maintains roughly 10,000 employees. While most trade unions approved the arrangement, Fiom-CGIL declined participation, expressing concerns about ongoing facility downsizing without concrete future manufacturing commitments.
Stellantis manufacturing output reached historic minimums in 2024 at 475,090 units, declining further by 35.5% in early 2025. Management anticipates workforce stabilization from August to facilitate hybrid model production.
These Turin departures complement similar voluntary programs across Italian operations, including 350 positions at PomiglianoStellantis 2025 - IT, 200 at TermoliStellantis 2025 - IT, and 50 at Pratola Serra facilities.
