European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Almaviva Contact has initiated collective dismissal procedures affecting 489 employees, with 277 workers at risk in Palermo and 112 in Catania. The call center company, fully owned by Almaviva SpA, will terminate these positions when the extraordinary redundancy fund expires on July 31, 2025. According to the company, which has accumulated losses exceeding €100 million over the past decade, declining market volumes and pressure for lower rates have made the business unsustainable. Only five employees working in market research will retain their positions.
Previous relocation efforts have failed to produce concrete results. The Sicily Region had committed to absorbing 130 employees for the European non-emergency medical service system (117118) and digitisation of archives, but these initiatives have not materialised.
