European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Stellantis will implement 200 voluntary exits at its Termoli facility as part of broader workforce reductions across Italian plants.
Trade unions express significant concern about the future of the Termoli site, where traditional engine production is ending and the previously announced Gigafactory battery project remains suspended. According to union representatives, despite Stellantis redirecting some work to hybrid component production, the Gigafactory initiative has been effectively paused with decisions potentially delayed until late 2025.
The incentive package offers employees aged 35-39 twelve months' salary plus €20,000, increasing to 18 months for those up to 44 years old, and 30-33 months with €30,000 bonuses for workers over 49. Staff eligible for retirement within 48 months will receive 90% of their gross salary during unemployment benefit periods.
Fiom-CGIL (trade union), which declined to sign the agreement, has called for discussions with Stellantis leadership at the Prime Minister's office to secure guarantees on employment and the future of Italian automotive manufacturing.
