Le Point, the French weekly political and conservative magazine, had announced 58 job cuts on the 23rd April 2025 in Paris. This decision affects 32 permanent employees and 26 freelance employees.
François Pinault, the owner of the magazine, has called for an urgent reinvention of a new economic model. The director specified that this PSE could initially take the form of a voluntary departure plan. This decision is going to particularly affect the magazine's proofreading and editing services, as they mentioned the possibility of using IA to replace these services.
The business and media specialist outlet points out that thisreorganisationn plan was feared as early as September 2024 and was presented as a response to the magazine's losses of 5.6 million euros last year on a turnover of 65.4 million euros.
