American cloud computing company Salesforce has announced that it will cut 1,000 jobs worldwide in 2025.
So far, the company has announced layoffs in Ireland, where about 50 positions are expected to be cut. The Irish government has confirmed receiving a collective redundancy notification from Salesforce regarding the restructuring programme.
The layoffs come as Salesforce seeks to optimize productivity while continuing to invest in artificial intelligence (AI) solutions.
Salesforce is a market-leading American multinational specialising in cloud computing services and products. The company employs over 72,000 staff worldwide.
It is the third global restructuring plan announced year after year. As part of global cost-savings measures, 7,900 jobs worldwide were cut in 2023 Salesforce 2023-WO, and another 700 in 2024 Salesforce 2024-WO.
