Description
Stryker, an American medical equipment company, is cutting between 51 and 62 jobs at its Montbonnot-Saint-Martin site, which employs 450 workers. This reduction is part of a three-year recovery plan aimed at improving competitiveness. The site, formerly known as Tornier before being acquired by Stryker in 2021, has struggled to meet the company’s performance expectations despite a €25 million investment to expand its workspace.
Trade unions and the work council have criticized the lack of dialogue with management, expressing concerns over internal competition between Stryker’s different sites. For instance, several machines were given to facilities in Ireland and the United States instead of in France.
