Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

EV Solutions, a manufacturer of charging stations, will be closed following a decision by Swiss company Landis+Gyr, resulting in the loss of 180 jobs.
Landis+Gyr, which acquired the Slovenian company EV Solutions in 2021, has decided to withdraw from the production of electric vehicle charging infrastructure. The management believes that the EV charging market is unlikely to achieve its projected growth rates and profitability due to various market pressures. Since the manufacturing of charging stations is not a core aspect of Landis+Gyr's business, the company will proceed with the liquidation of EV Solutions.
Employees include production workers, developers, technical support and administration.
Updated, 1/4/2025 EV Solutions was acquired by the KD Group, saving the company in bankruptcy proceedings and all 180 jobs. In March, Landis+Gyr sold EV Solutions to the Slovenian KD Group. The value of the deal was not disclosed. EV Solutions currently covers almost three quarters of the market for public charging stations for electric vehicles in Slovenia. The acquisition ensures the continued existence of the company and the availability of services for its customers and partners.
