Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

Egotex, a Slovak textile production company announced to the Labour office that they are closing their business, letting go all of the 168 current employees.
Management cited plummeting of orders, as well as continuous increase in labour costs. The company, which specializes in luxury outerwear apparel for brands all over Europe, has been in operation for 27 years, but had been in a "survival mode" for months, not gaining enough demand for their products.
This closure follows the trend of textile company closures in Slovakia, see factsheets on Makyta Puchov or Eterna Banovce and Bebravou. Makyta 2025-SK, Eterna 2024-SK
