Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

International financial services company, BNY Mellon, announced it is closing its office in Wexford town with the resulting loss of 300 jobs.
The closure of the Wexford site is the result of a global review of the bank’s real estate assets. There are approximately 310 employees employed at the Wexford office and it is understood that the vast majority of these will be made redundant with a very small number offered relocation or remote working. The company has entered a collective consultation process.
The global bank has had a presence in Ireland since 1994 and currently has offices in Cork, Dublin and Cork. The Cork and Dublin offices will not be impacted by the job losses.
