Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

Schibsted Media, a Norwegian media group and owner of major newspapers in Norway and Sweden has announced plans to cut approximately 350 jobs worldwide in 2025.
The layoffs will affect employees across its operations in Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Poland. The conditions of the programme will be negotiated with employee representatives according to local regulations. The specific distribution of job cuts across the organisation, including editorial and commercial roles, has not yet been confirmed.
The restructuring comes as a response to declining print circulations, stagnating advertising revenues, and rising operational costs.
In 2024, Schibsted Media emerged from the split of Schibsted into two independent companies, becoming fully owned by the Tinius Trust Foundation, while Schibsted Marketplaces remained a publicly traded company. The company operates in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Poland, employing about 2,800 people.
