Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

Thermo Fisher/Henogen has announced it will be dismissing 100 of its 305 employees at both facilities in Gosselies and Seneffe. The main reasons behind the restructuring are a lack of budget (leading to reduced options for R&D investments) as well as low(er) market demand. According to the company management, these factors force a reduction in the workforce to cope. At the time of writing, it is still unclear which of both sites will be affected the most by the restructuring measure. As prescribed in the Renault Law, the consultation and information phase between unions and employers has now begun.
