Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

The Veolia Group, a specialist in water, energy, and waste management, is hiring 152 workers in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Half of these recruits will be hired in Clermont-Ferrand, Lyon, and Valence. The group is not targeting specific experience levels and is offering a variety of positions. For instance, in Clermont-Ferrand, six waste collection conductors are being sought. Additionally, two are needed in Vichy and one in, respectively, Cournon-d’Auvergne, Bayet, Montluçon, and Creuzier-le-Vieux.

Veolia has announced additional urgent recruitments across various regions, totaling 621 new hires. In Nouvelle-Acquitaine, 60 workers will be hired, including 37 in Bordeaux, to support the region’s green transition. Recruitment targets include maintenance technicians and chemists. Additionally, a permanent driver-operator position is available in Le Teich, and a sanitation plant operative is needed in La Teste-de-Buch. In Pays de la Loire, 77 workers will be hired for various roles, from purchasing managers to technicians. In Brittany, 50 new hires are planned. In Occitanie, 108 workers will be hired, with 25 positions in the Hérault department. The majority of hires will be in Montpellier. In Normandy, 88 workers will be recruited, mainly in Caen, Rouen, and Le Havre. In the Grand Est, 122 workers will be hired across multiple cities, including Metz, Strasbourg, Pompey, Nancy, Reims, Saint-Dizier, Aube, and Mulhouse. The company offers various employee benefits, such as transportation reimbursement and meal vouchers. In Hauts-de-France, 116 workers will be hired, including 20 in the Lille area and 33 in the mining basin and Arrageois region.
