The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The Academy of Dijon, the local education authority, is cutting 113 jobs in its prefecture due to a decline in student numbers resulting from a decreasing birth rate. Initially, 60 jobs will be cut, followed by another 50. Additionally, while two administrative positions are being removed, one new role will be created.
The government had originally planned to cut 4,000 jobs nationally due to budget constraints, a proposal that attracted significant criticism. Although this national project has since been abandoned, individual academies are proceeding with their own job cuts. Similar redundancies are occurring across the country, for example, in Reims Académie de Reims 2025 - FR.
