Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

The car producer Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech (HMMC), headquartered in the Nošovice industrial zone, has announced a slowdown in production and a reduction in the number of employees by about 100 out of the 3,100 staff in 2025. The reason is the economic situation in the world, uncertain demand for Hyundai electric cars and the import of cheap cars from China.
Layoffs are to take place through natural fluctuation, i.e. by not replacing those who leave voluntarily, and by reducing the number of agency workers.
The plant in Nošovice is the first and the only Hyundai manufacturing plant in the European Union, established on 7 July 2006. This was historically the largest foreign investment in the Czech Republic. Production focuses on the Tucson, i30 in different variants and Kona Electric models.
In 2022, Hyundai had enlarged its czech workforce of 120 employees (see Hyundai - 2022 - CZ)
