Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

US-based company Trico Wipers, manufacturer of car wipers, announced the closure of the plant in Aricestii Rahtivani (Prahova County) which employed 403 people at the beginning of 2024. The County Employment Agency (AJOF) received a notification on Thursday announcing the company's intention to collectively lay off 403 employees.
Layoffs will be carried out in tranches until the third quarter of this year, with the application of priority criteria in the collective redundancy process. The company announced that measures will be taken to mitigate the consequences of redundancies and to offer financial compensation based on seniority.
The company did not mention publicly what its reasons are for closing the plant.
