Description

Plati, a cable manufacturing company, is laying off 184 employees at its factory in Kwidzyn. The restructuring is due to the firm's decision to relocate and close the plant by end-2024, with 124 employees already dismissed and another 60 expected to lose their jobs. Local labour offices plan to provide vocational training and employment support for affected workers. The labour union has reported the case to the State Labour Inspection to address unpaid severance pay for many dismissed workers. Plati, an Italian company, operated in Kwidzyn for nearly 25 years, producing cables for automotive, telecommunications, and household appliance sectors.
