Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The call centre service in Sveg Foundever announced in July of 2024 a closure of activities, affecting 200 employees. This decision followed the loss of the sole client of the call centre services, the airline operator SAS.
The call centre was an important employer in Sveg, a town of about 2500 residents. The call centre has been active in Sveg for over 30 years, and has been operated by different companies during that time. Previous owners have been Datasvar and Sykes.
