Description
Sanita Footwear, a footwear company, has closed its factory in Piła and laid off 150 people.
The factory was closed because the Danish parent company Sanita Footwear A/S in Denmark, which owns 100% of Sanita Footwear in Poland, declared bankruptcy. The bankruptcy was confirmed on 19 December and all employees lost their jobs. The employees found out about the redundancies unannounced and without following the procedures for collective redundancies; former employees reported the case to the State Labour Inspection, and other authorities.
Sanita Footwear is a Danish shoe manufacturing company.
