Description
The construction company Serneke has filed for bankruptcy and announced that 550 employees will be laid-off. The laid-off staff will be covered by state wage guarantee.
All of the company’s ongoing constructions projects, spanning all across Sweden, have been stopped. These include projects of societal significance, such as a sewage treatment plant and a health care centre.
Serneke is a Swedish construction company and had approximately 750 employees in 2023. In November 2024, the German holding company Mutares acquired Serneke but has not managed to balance the company’s economy. The bankruptcy was filed only six weeks after the acquisition took place.
