Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Bukóza Invest, part of the larger Bukóza Holding, a Slovak producer of cellulose, announced its plans start bankruptcy proceedings with near-certainty, since 290 out of 400 employees submitted their resignation notice. This effectively amounts to a closure of the plant.
The notices of resignation were sent in early December 2024 and were mainly in manufacturing positions.
The ministry of labour is prepared to reimburse the severance pay on behalf of the company, contingent on the company filing for bankruptcy.
