Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Aubert & Duval, a metallurgy materials manufacturer serving several sectors, is hiring 100 new workers this year at their Pamiers site. A job dating session was organised in Pic to facilitate this recruitment effort. The newly hired workers will then undergo training for several months, gaining experience across various positions, from quality control to machine operation.
Bought by Airbus, Safran, and Tokelau Capital in April 2023, the company continues to grow. Production at the Pamiers site is expected to grow 15-20% in 2024, driven in part by the opening of a new workshop at the end of the year.
As of 2024, the company employs a total workforce of 3,900 people, including around 1,100 workers in Pamiers. Several previous large restructurings have been recorded on the ERM database, with the latest hiring 150 in 2022 Aubert & Duval 2022 - FR.
