Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
German energy company Eon is downsizing its operations in Sweden and plans to cut 200 jobs in Sweden, which corresponds to 6 percent of Eon's total 3,500 employees in the country. The reorganisation of the Swedish operations is scheduled to be completed in February 2025.
Eon is reorienting its activities. Sale and installation of solar panels and heating and cooling solutions for individuals and businesses are discontinued. At the same time, Eon is investing heavily in other areas, with planned investments of around SEK 6 billion (Approx €522 million) annually in the electricity grid. The Eon is also planning a new biofuel-fired heating plant in Malmö.
