German discount supermarket chain Lidl has announced that it plans to create 300 jobs at its new logistics hub in Châtelaudren-Plouagat, Brittany.
The group inaugurated a 57,000m2, warehouse, following a €100 million investment. The facility, equipped with 123 loading docks and capable of handling 490,000 pallets weekly. The warehouse will supply 62 stores in Brittany, with four additional stores planned for 2024. The site incorporates sustainable features, including 5,000m² of photovoltaic panels, 48 electric vehicle charging points, a heat recovery system, and LED lighting, alongside the planting of 528 trees.
In France, the Lidl group employs 46,000 people and owns 1,600 stores and 25 logistics platforms.
