Description
French group specializing in hazardous waste management and industrial decarbonization Europlasma has announced that it will cut 125 jobs at its two production sites in Trith-Saint-Léger and Leffrinckoucke.
On 20 March 2024, the Lille Commercial Court validated the takeover of French train wheel maker Valdunes by Europlasma. The takeover will result in the preservation of 184 jobs out of 309 at Valdunes' two sites in Leffrinckoucke and Trith-Saint-Léger, leading to 125 layoffs.
Supported by €15 million in equity from Europlasma, €15 million in state loans, and €5 million from local authorities, the acquisition aims to transform Valdunes’ economic model to produce "green wheels" using sustainable steel and energy. This strategic move seeks to revitalize the historic manufacturer while aligning with industrial sovereignty and environmental goals.
