Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

The Spanish railway company Renfe intends to expand its workforce by hiring 71 military professionals and 40 maintenance managers.
As part of the same hiring drive, the company also plans to hire of 600 drivers ( RENFE-2024-ES), as well as 330 commercial operators and 300 workshop staff Renfe-2024-ES. The company expects a total additional 1,350 employees by the close of 2024.
The corporation is also training the 18th batch of train drivers, set to complete in July 2025, and initiating a new program for candidates who did not pass the third and fourth rounds of the State Agency for Railway Safety tests. These training and employment programmes are very important for Renfe to successfully respond to the company needs.
Renfe did also announce several employment creation processes in 2023 (for instance RENFE-2023-ES), 2022 (for instance RENFE-2022-ES) and 2021 RENFE-2021-ES.
