Description

Syensqo, a Belgian company specializing in chemical materials, has announced that it will cut about 50 jobs at its production site in Saint-Fons.

The company is to close its vanillin production line at the factory and relocate production to Baton Rouge, the United States. The reorganization aims to enhance competitiveness by consolidating production operations.

Syensqo was established in December 2023, through the spin-off from Solvay. The company has 62 industrial sites and 12 R&D centers, employing 13,000 people in 30 countries. The Saint-Fons site has been operating since 1884; it was acquired by Syensqo in 2011. Currently, the factory employs 250 people.
