Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
As announced on 22 November 2024, technology company Bosch plans to cut an additional 5,500 jobs worldwide, including 3,800 in Germany. The reason cited is overcapacity in the automotive sector.
The latest cuts will primarily affect the "Cross-Domain Computing Solutions" division and the locations in Leonberg, Schwäbisch Gmünd, and Abstatt in Baden-Württemberg, as well as Hildesheim in Lower Saxony. In recent months, Bosch also reduced the working hours of numerous employees—along with their salaries accordingly. Bosch employs approximately 134,000 people in Germany.
The global restructuring programme has been recorded in the ERM database Bosch 2024 - WO.
Earlier this year, the company announced plans to cut 3,500 jobs by 2027. This event has been recorded in the ERM Bosch 2024 - WO.
