Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Boiron, a pharmaceutical laboratory, is undergoing internal restructuring, resulting in the loss of 145 jobs across various locations. Four sites: Aubière, Dijon, Reims and Sophia-Antipolis, will close between June and November 2025, leading to the loss of 73 jobs, including 15 in Aubière. The remaining job cuts will affect distribution centres in Bordeaux, Marseille, Nancy, Nantes, Rennes, Toulouse, and Tours.
Of the 145 positions being cut, 28 were vacant roles. As part of this reorganization, the company plans to create eight new positions in its pharmaceutical network.
This restructuring follows the non-reimbursement of homoeopathy in 2021, which had previously triggered the loss of 500 jobs in a prior internal reorganization in 2021: Laboratoires Boiron 2020 - FR.
