Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
As announced on 25 November 2024, the German chocolate manufacturer Leysieffer from Osnabrück, Lower Saxony, has declared insolvency in October 2024. The company has failed to find a new investor and is now being liquidated. All 150 employees have received their termination notices, having been informed of the closure on November 5. This affects all locations in Osnabrück, Hamburg, Berlin, Hanover, Münster, and Sylt.
The company has faced difficulties in the past, having previously filed for insolvency in 2019 and 2022. The previous insolvency proceedings do not appear to have led to a sustainable recovery.
