Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Better Energy, a leading player in Denmark’s renewable energy sector, is reducing its workforce by up to 40% of its 363 employees in Denmark by the end of 2024 due to slower-than-expected green transition progress. The company, which has experienced rapid growth over the past few years, faces a market slowdown in solar energy demand. The development of new solar parks has reached a more steady pace, and electrification efforts have stalled. Despite the cuts, Better Energy remains focused on delivering green energy, shifting towards a more project-based approach and outsourcing more tasks. The company is adjusting to a slower growth environment and refocusing on strategic projects in Northern Europe.
