Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Axians, a multinational information and communication technology company and subsidiary of Vinci, is cutting 161 jobs in Brittany.
The restructuring will lead to the closure of three sites in Pacé (Ille-et-Vilaine), Ploeren (Morbihan), and Quimper (Finistère). This internal restructuring is a result of the non-renewal of a contract with Orange. A job protection plan will be implemented, offering options for internal reclassification. A few dozen employees mobilised in early November to protest the decision, with further protests expected.
As of 2022, Vinci Energies counted a total workforce of around 2 160 workers across 49 companies in Britanny.
