Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
MA Polska, an automotive supplier of car body parts, plans to lay off 260 employees from its facilities in Kielce and Tychy. The reduction in employment is caused by the significant reduction in the company's production programmes and was cited as the main reason. The job cuts at the Tychy plant will affect 135 of the 879 employees, while 125 of the 631 employees in Kielce will lose their jobs. The layoffs, which are scheduled to end by the end of 2024, will mainly affect production roles like welders, sheet metal workers, and operators. Negotiations with labour unions to discuss severance packages are ongoing. MA Polska S.A. is a company headquartered in Tychy. It operates in the production sector of parts and accessories for motor vehicles. The company was founded in 2002.
