Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Draexlmaier, an automotive accessories and electronic parts supplier, plans to lay off around 220 employees at its Jelenia Góra facility. The layoffs are scheduled to take place between October 2024 and February 2025 and stem from one of the Draexlmaier client’s decisions to conclude one of the projects early. Persons working on the particular project will be laid-off. Despite these layoffs, Draexlmaier intends to expand with new projects in the future. Draexlmaier Group’s first Polish branch opened in Jelenia Góra in 1999, marking the start of its operations in Poland.
