Description

Mondi Stamboliiski - the Bulgarian subsidiary of Mondi Group pulp and paper producer will end its operations from the New Year. All company workers, about 300 people, will be dismissed. The main reason for the plant's closure was the fire that broke out in its production area in September. The fire caused extensive damage to the craft paper machine, which has had a capacity of 100,000 tonnes per year, and shut down the plant's production process. Meetings are to be arranged concerning the formal cessation of the company's production activities and the redundancy of employees. They will talk about the qualification and retraining of the staff, and finding jobs for the employees.
