Description

Dedert IJs, known for popular ice products like Dubbellikkers, Calippos, and Twisters, has declared bankruptcy after 70 years due to financial strain. It has its headquarters in Roermond since the 1960s. They announced that they will cut at least 100 jobs. It is unknown which units are the most affected by these job cuts.

Dedert's struggles reflect broader issues in the ice cream industry, with demand dropping amid cooler weather, increased ingredient costs, and limited ability to pass these costs on to consumers. Big manufactures have even gotten rid of the ice cream production altogether, to increase the gain and production values. For now, though, Derdert IJs has stated it will keep 40 jobs to keep the company running.
