As announced on 17 October 2024, the Swiss medical technology company Ypsomed has opened a new production hall in Schwerin. The company specializes in injection and infusion systems for self-medication. The company invested 22 million Swiss francs in the facility. This expansion of production capacity is in response to the growing global demand for high-quality medical technology products. In the future, the production hall is expected to be further expanded, creating around 650 new jobs and 35 new apprenticeships. So far, 85 new positions have already been created in Schwerin. Ypsomed currently employs 2,400 people worldwide.
