Description

Carrefour, the French supermarket chain, is closing the headquarters of Cora in Croissy-Beaubourg (Seine-et-Marne), resulting in the elimination of 340 jobs. This move follows Carrefour's acquisition of Cora and Match, two competing supermarket chains, in July 2024 and is part of an internal restructuring process.

As part of the plan, 120 new positions will be created at Carrefour’s headquarters in Massy. The company has assured that all affected employees will be offered reclassification opportunities or options for external mobility.

Prior to the acquisition, Cora employed 22,000 workers, while Carrefour France had a total workforce of approximately 85,000 employees in 2023.

The European Restructuring Monitor (ERM) has recorded several significant restructuring events involving Carrefour, with the latest in France in 2023 where around 900 to 1,000 jobs were cut Carrefour 2023 - FR .
