Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Beaumanoir Group, a French ready-to-wear distribution and logistics company, has announced the reduction of 164 positions out of approximately 700 employees at its head office in Saint-Jean-de-Luz. Notably, no in-store jobs will be impacted by this workforce adjustment, and the head office will remain in its current location without being repatriated.
This social plan follows the Group’s recent acquisition of Boardriders' (Quiksilver) brand activities in Eastern Europe as part of its strategic restructuring efforts.
As of 2022, the Beaumanoir Group employs over 15,000 people worldwide.
